Café Mambo Ibiza
Mambo Radio
Café Mambo had humble beginnings, but what started with the small spark of an idea and a dilapidated finca on the coastal rocks of San Antonio has grown into a worldwide phenomenon. Established in 1994 by Javier Anadon, the first ever Mambo opening party was packed largely thanks to word of mouth (that’s how they did it back then!) and soundtracked by Bob Dylan’s The Time’s They Are A-Changin’, a tune that proved prescient. Before long, Café Mambo was the hottest ticket in town and everyone from music industry insiders to tourists and locals were vying for a sunset spot.
Javier knew he was on to something special, and over the years, he watched as Mambo’s star ascended, attracting international crowds. It was at the heart of the scene in the wildly hedonistic ‘90s and over the course of the coming decades the venue grew in stature to match the global appeal of the island. The list of once-in-a-lifetime, memorable moments is too long to detail, but anyone who’s experienced the roar of the Mambo crowd as the sun dips below the horizon knows exactly what we mean.
Today, Mambo is an Ibizan rite of passage. Synonymous with spectacular west coast sunsets and famed across the world for hosting legendary pre-parties for the Ibiza super clubs every night of the week, it’s a second home to superstar DJs like Steve Aoki, Fisher, Camelphat, Martin Solveig and the legendary Swedish House Mafia. Carl Cox, Pete Tong, Benny Benassi, Boy George, Sasha, Judge Jules and many, many more are also regulars, and bona fide experts when it comes to soundtracking the last light of day and summoning the ever-unpredictable Ibiza night.
Seats at Mambo’s exclusive seaside restaurant are in high demand and the VIP tables, dotted around the DJ booth for an up close and personal experience with world-class talent, always sell out — we recommend reserving a spot well in advance of your visit.
At its core, Mambo remains a family business, and that’s why Javier passed the baton to his sons, who you’ll probably know as the Mambo Brothers. Today, they reside over the venue, ensuring that the unique Mambo spirit remains entirely intact. With an atmosphere unlike anywhere else on the island, a place people come together to celebrate the delights of white isle life, Mambo is rightly considered a modern-day Ibizan icon. At sunset, grab one of the strawberry daiquiris and strap in for the ride of your life.
